Victory in defeat

The garden is not only a source of nourishment but inspiration for artistic expression. Every season we’re presented with a new variety of flowering plant. This particular flower lends itself to an impressionistic interpretation. If your not in the habit of growing your own vegetables you probably won’t recognize it. Its an eggplant flower. Last year’s crop was attacked severely by the flea beetle. As a result very few eggplants were had. However the flowers had a rustic beauty together with a pale and soft colouration.
